Impact Glass Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotes, orders, products, services, repairs, replacements, custom glass, security screens, shower screens, wardrobe doors, pet doors, commercial glazing and related works supplied by Impact Glass.By accepting a quote, paying a deposit, approving works, or instructing Impact Glass to proceed, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Quotes
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
Quotes are based on the information available at the time, including site information, photos, plans, supplied measurements, requested products and access details. Final pricing may vary if additional work, different materials, access issues, site conditions or measurement discrepancies are identified.
2. Acceptance of Quote
A quote is considered accepted when the customer, property manager, authorised representative, business, owner, tenant, agent or insurer provides written or verbal approval for Impact Glass to proceed.
Once a quote is accepted, Impact Glass may begin ordering, preparing, cutting, sourcing or manufacturing materials for the job.
3. Deposits
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the order unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The deposit covers administration, ordering, supplier costs, custom materials, manufacturing preparation and allocation of labour.
Where custom materials have been ordered, prepared, cut, made or allocated to a specific job, the customer may be liable for those costs even if the job is later cancelled.
This does not limit any rights the customer may have under Australian Consumer Law.
4. Custom Orders and Special-Order Materials
Many glass, glazing, security screen, shower screen, wardrobe door and commercial glazing products are custom measured, custom cut, custom manufactured or specifically ordered for each property.
Custom or special-order materials may not be able to be returned, reused or resold.
Once custom materials have been ordered, prepared, cut or manufactured, cancellation may not be accepted, and the customer remains responsible for the costs already incurred.
5. Cancellations
Cancellations must be provided in writing as soon as possible.
Cancellations made before materials are ordered or manufacturing begins may be accepted at Impact Glass’ discretion.
Cancellations made after materials have been ordered, prepared, cut, manufactured or allocated to the job may result in the customer being charged for all costs incurred, including but not limited to materials, supplier charges, custom manufacturing, administration, restocking fees where applicable, and any labour already completed.
A verbal comment that a job “may be cancelled” is not treated as a confirmed cancellation unless clear written cancellation is received.
6. Supplied Measurements
Where a quote is based on measurements supplied by the customer, builder, property manager, agent, owner, tenant or third party, those measurements must be checked and verified.
Impact Glass may complete a final measure before manufacture begins where required. If there are differences between supplied measurements and final measurements, the quote or invoice may need to be adjusted.
Impact Glass is not responsible for errors resulting from incorrect measurements supplied by others.
7. Manufacturing and Lead Times
Manufacturing and supply times vary depending on the product, quantity, supplier availability, custom work, weather, public holidays and workload.
As a general guide, manufacturing may take approximately 30 business days from deposit payment, approval of the quote, or final measure, depending on the type of work required.
Lead times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Impact Glass will make reasonable efforts to notify customers of significant delays.
8. Installation Scheduling
Impact Glass will contact the customer to arrange installation once materials are ready and scheduling is available.
Installation dates may need to be rescheduled due to weather, supplier delays, staff availability, emergency glazing works, site access issues, safety concerns or circumstances outside Impact Glass’ control.
9. Weather and Safety
Impact Glass does not install glass or glazing products during unsafe weather conditions, including rain, storms, high winds or other conditions that create safety risks.
If installation cannot proceed due to weather or safety concerns, the job will be rescheduled at no additional charge for the rescheduling itself.
10. Site Access and Safety
The customer must ensure the site is safe, accessible and ready for work to proceed.
This includes ensuring clear access to work areas, vehicles, doors, windows, frames and any areas where glass or materials are to be handled.
Dogs and other animals must be restrained before and during attendance to prevent injury, delay or incident.
If Impact Glass attends site and cannot complete the work due to lack of access, unsafe conditions, unrestrained animals, other trades, locked premises or the site not being ready, additional charges may apply.
11. Asbestos and Hazardous Materials
It is not the responsibility of Impact Glass to identify, remove, disturb or handle asbestos or hazardous materials.
If Impact Glass suspects asbestos or another hazardous material may be present before or during works, work may be stopped immediately.
The customer is responsible for arranging assessment, removal and clearance by a suitably qualified professional. Work will not recommence until Impact Glass is satisfied it is safe to do so and, where required, appropriate clearance documentation has been supplied.
Additional attendance, delay or rescheduling costs may apply.
12. Additional Work and Variations
Any additional work requested by the customer, or required due to site conditions, measurement changes, access issues, frame condition, structural issues or product changes, may incur additional charges.
Where possible, additional costs will be discussed and agreed before extra work proceeds.
13. Payment
Payment terms will be stated on the quote or invoice.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the balance of the invoice is payable on completion of the works.
For custom orders, special-order materials or cancelled works where costs have already been incurred, payment remains due for the materials, labour, administration and supplier costs already committed to the job.
Impact Glass reserves the right to recover unpaid amounts, including reasonable debt recovery costs, legal costs, administration fees and interest where permitted by law.
14. Property Managers, Agents and Authorised Representatives
Where a property manager, real estate agency, insurer, builder, tenant, business representative or other authorised party approves works on behalf of an owner, landlord, business or customer, Impact Glass relies on that approval as authority to proceed.
Once approval is provided, the customer, owner, landlord, agency, business or responsible party remains liable for costs incurred by Impact Glass in reliance on that approval.
15. Certification and Compliance
Any certification, approvals, permits, engineering, body corporate approvals, council approvals or compliance requirements are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Impact Glass is responsible only for the glazing works it has agreed to complete.
16. Warranty
Products and workmanship are warranted against defects, subject to the specific product type, manufacturer warranty and applicable consumer guarantees.
Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, impact, vandalism, attempted break-in, movement of frames, building movement, poor existing structures, weather events, corrosion, lack of maintenance, third-party interference, or damage caused after installation.
Warranty periods may vary depending on the product supplied. Please contact Impact Glass for product-specific warranty details.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes any rights the customer may have under Australian Consumer Law.
17. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
If there is a major failure with goods or services, customers may be entitled to remedies under Australian Consumer Law. If the issue is minor, Impact Glass may be entitled to repair or rectify the issue within a reasonable time.
These Terms & Conditions do not exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Agreement
By accepting a quote, paying a deposit, providing written or verbal approval, or instructing Impact Glass to proceed with works, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
